Junior and Senior Team competes at 

2016 WTF President's Cup G2

The 2016 WTF President's Cup took place from October 27th to October 30th in Portland, Oregon. It was a G2 Kyorugi and G1 Poomsae event. There was an outstanding number of talented athletes and coaches present. Peak VA had 9 athletes that competed in the sparring competition. Matthew G., Arya R., Benjamin J., Luke M., and Timothy S. kicked the team off on the first day of the competition. All five athletes performed well. Both Luke and Timothy secured a medal in their respective divisions. Luke won the BRONZE medal in the Junior Male Fly weight division. Timothy won the GOLD medal in the Junior Male Light weight division. By winning a GOLD medal at the event, Timothy also earned a Wild Card position at the 2017 Pan American Junior Championships next year.

Athletes Benjamin S., Andrew S., Brandon F., and Tony G. competed on day 2.  Andrew lost to the #3 ranked Senior Bantam weight in the world, Abel Mendoza of Mexico. Brandon and Tony came up just short of a medal, and Benjamin closed the competition with a BRONZE medal in the Senior Male Bantam weight division. Benjamin had a great day of competition and lost to the 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medalist Luisito Pie of the Dominican Republic in semifinals.
